Our innovative cultural awareness program builds the understanding, awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with a particular focus on Central Australia. We aim to ensure that organisations develop their cultural awareness, attitudes and behaviours of their workforce to support the establishment of a culturally safe and culturally responsive workplaces.

Details
Grounded in our shared humanity, our unique approach weaves together narrative practices and approaches, utilising story and interactive activities in an immersive and engaging workshop that explores First Nations cultures, histories and worldviews. Our goal is that participants walk away from the workshop feeling connected with a greater understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and perspectives.
Outcomes
  • Develop an understanding, awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and perspectives, particularly those in the Central Australia
  • Experience connections to Country including the importance of Altyerre
  • Recognise the social, political and historical determinants of health for individuals and groups
  • Discuss practical strategies and approaches in developing culturally safe and responsive workplaces
